Rat bone marrow derived MSCs were cultured and expanded under in-vitro conditions followed by chemical induced differentiation into neuronal lineage (ectodermal origin). However, germ layer transition was observed as the Mix Paired-Like Homeobox MixL1 and T Brachyury genes are over expressed, both genes are responsible for the formation of endoderm and mesoderm layers.
