Supplementation with Nigella Sativa and nano-sized clinoptilolite in rats with diabetes mellitusinduced with high-fat diet and injection of 35 mg/kg BW of streptozotocin, resulted in asignificant increase in calcium, alkaline phosphatase, and parathyroid hormone levels.
LPS stimulated the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 by binding toTLR-4. iNOS produced enormous nitric oxide (NO) that stimulated COX-2 activity and prostaglandin E2 which further induced the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines leading to inflammation. ALK-F of A. vasica could attenuate iNOS and COX-2 gene expression reducing NO production.

Three-year follow-up of patients, treated for diabetic foot ulcers with mesenchymal stromal cells that revealed absence of ulcer recurrence, neoplasms, and scar contracture. Collagen ultrasound density decreased by 57% and the epidermal thickness increased by 72% in the area of healed ulcers.
