The in-situ gel-forming system containing phage can be effective for the treatment of P. aeruginosa keratoconjunctivitis. The in-situ gel-forming technique provides new attributes such as the long-term release of bacteriophage and an increase in the durability of bacteriophage in the eye. These features can lead to the use of a lower dose of active phage ingredient in the formulation.
